SHADOXHURST

We were appointed by an experienced niche house builder to complete a full planning application for a residential development in  Shadoxhurst, Kent. The 22 dwelling scheme comprises a range of vernacular house type designs, each optimised for its specific setting within the site, strategically positioned to respond to the surrounding context.

The masterplan further responds to the character of the surrounding village with the creation of a new green focal point at the centre of the site, and the establishment of a key vista through the site to the landscape beyond. The dwelling designs utilise traditional materials and detailing to reference the local vernacular, resulting in a sensitive development which integrates well into both the village and its semi rural setting.
