We were delighted to receive progress pictures of this small self-build barn conversion we recently designed for a client in rural France.
We worked closely with our British clients to ensure that their brief was carefully balanced against the importance of retaining the character of the original building.
As well as extensive remedial and stonework including raising of openings to accommodate modern adults, this sensitive conversion includes a a new roof with mezzanine level bedroom overlooking a double height vaulted space with a full-height stone chimney breast and open fire. New roof dormers will provide additional light and headroom whilst framing long views across the breath-taking Bretagne countryside.
Once completed, the barn will offer ancillary living space to the main residence to accommodate guests or holiday lets, and we cant wait to visit once its completed!
