Mid January and we are pleased to bring you an update on the progress of the refurbishment and regeneration project to the Grade 2 Listed Custom House building, in Gravesend. The demolition works are in progress across the site, and the piled foundations are in for the new build terrace block, with the slab due to be poured by end of the month.

TJDA are pleased to be working on a new Air Space development in Hanwell, London. The first phase involves the addition of two additional floors on top of an existing four storey block of flats along with two additional rear staircase cores. A second phase of additional flats to the rear block and a new external lift core are to be submitted soon.

Over the festive break we thought we would explore the exciting world of AI, with the help of our youngest clients to date, meet Theo, 6, and Sadie, 4. The dynamic duo have been working with us to develop designs for their dream houses using Midjourney Ai. These early explorations have been both entertaining and enlightening, and we can see endless possibilities for how this technology will be used to complement art, design, and even creative play. This bespoke residential dwelling for a private client situated along the Birchington coastline in Thanet has recently been completed.    We worked very closely with the clients to understand and develop their design brief, in order to ensure that this new home would make the very best of all the opportunities afforded by this fantastic coastal location.

We are delighted to be working with Torran Construction and JRC Steel Frame Buildings to deliver a new 23,500 sq ft industrial unit for Whites Transport at Channel View Road, Manston, Thanet.   The project is due to be completed at the end of November 24.

It’s always a pleasure to work on something slightly different, and this project to create a multi-generational home is a great example. The brief called for a careful understanding and balancing of needs and expectations, with a design that would simultaneously meet the needs of all of its occupants, whilst making the very best of its fantastic coastal location and far-reaching views across the English Channel.

In addition to works starting on site, Custom House stars in the recently released film, Bird, which was filmed in and around Gravesend including Custom House.
